Justin McCully Got Next
January 15, 2008
Check out my latest Fight Network column about Justin McCully here.
UFC Heavyweight contender Justin McCully stopped by The Park today to discuss a whole host of MMA/wrestling topics. Some of the issues we talked about included:
* How he missed a chance to fight Cheick Kongo
* Why he deserves to fight the winner of Kongo-Herring
* His health status
* His ten-year journey to UFC stardom
* How he got involved in professional wrestling and MMA
* His experiences while wrestling in Japan
* Turning down a WWE developmental deal to wrestle in the original ECW
* Why Bill DeMott ruined his WWE dreams
If you’ve seen McCully’s appearances on HDNet’s “Inside MMA” you know the man brings a lot of knowledge to the table. Add to the fact that he has a background in professional wrestling and he’ll always have a permanent seat at the JP Head Table.

Interesting. I never knew he was even a pro wrestler let alone someone who was signed by ECW. What a dumb choice that was.

Justin is a great fighter, if Dana White would put him in more fights, he wouldnt have the ring rust he had fighting Gonzaga, If Dana White could see that Justin is a good fighter and fight him more so the kid could get going, instead of blacking his eye for training in Tito camp a few times, Justin is not on Titos team, Infect like always Tito doesnt help anybody but himself, Justin trains with a total different crew, His Brother and many other guys have trained with the McCully brothers. Both are skilled, Hope to see the Insane one kicking some ass soon if not in the UFC, IM sure Affliction would welcome him as they are after the best fighter in the world.
